Want lower car insurance rates for your Subaru Justy? Are you confused by the sheer number of car insurance options? You’re not alone. Consumers have so many companies to choose from that it can turn into more work than you anticipated to find the lowest price.
Compare the Market for Insurance
There are several ways to compare rate quotes from insurance companies in your area. By far the easiest way to find the lowest 1993 Subaru Justy rates involves getting comparison quotes online. This is very easy and can be done using a couple different methods.
The fastest way to get quotes is a comparison rater form (click to open form in new window). This form keeps you from doing repetitive form entry for each company you want a rate for. A single, simple form will return quotes from multiple companies. Recommended for those who want to invest the least amount of time.
A more difficult way to shop for insurance online is to manually visit the website for each individual company to complete a price quote. For sake of this example, we’ll pretend you want comparison quotes from USAA, GEICO and Farmers. To get each rate you have to take the time to go to each site to input your insurance information, and that’s why the first method is more popular.

Which method you use is up to you, but make absolute certain that you use apples-to-apples coverage limits with every price quote. If each company quotes higher or lower deductibles it will be next to impossible to determine the lowest rate for your Subaru Justy. Having just a slight variation in insurance coverages may cause a big price difference. Just remember that obtaining a wide range of quotes will enable you to find better pricing.
Save big with these eight discounts
Companies offering auto insurance do not list every available discount very clearly, so here is a list both the well known and the more hidden savings tricks you should be using.
- Anti-theft System – Cars that have factory anti-theft systems are stolen less frequently and will save you 10% or more.
- More Vehicles More Savings – Insuring multiple cars or trucks on one policy qualifies for this discount.
- Fewer Miles Equal More Savings – Keeping the miles down on your Subaru could qualify for lower rates on the low mileage vehicles.
- Accident Forgiveness – Certain companies allow you one accident before raising your premiums so long as you haven’t had any claims for a particular time prior to the accident.
- Good Students Pay Less – Performing well in school can earn a discount of 20% or more. Earning this discount can benefit you up until you turn 25.
- Government Employees – Active or retired federal employment may qualify you for a discount for Justy coverage with a few insurance companies.
- Seat Belts Save more than Lives – Requiring all passengers to use a seat belt could save 15% on the medical payments or PIP coverage costs.
- Passive Restraints – Cars that have air bags can receive discounts of up to 25% or more.
Consumers should know that most discount credits are not given the whole policy. Some only reduce the price of certain insurance coverages like liability and collision coverage. So even though it sounds like having all the discounts means you get insurance for free, you’re out of luck.

But I don’t know anything about car insurance
When it comes to choosing adequate coverage, there really is not a cookie cutter policy. Everyone’s needs are different.
Here are some questions about coverages that may help highlight if you might need an agent’s assistance.
- What is the minimum liability in my state?
- What if I owe more than I can insure my car for?
- Do I need to file an SR-22 for a DUI in my state?
- Do all my vehicles need collision coverage?
- Are there companies who specialize in insuring high-risk drivers?
- Is a new car covered when I drive it off the dealer lot?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions then you might want to talk to an insurance agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, take a second and complete this form.

Parts of your auto insurance policy
Having a good grasp of your auto insurance policy helps when choosing appropriate coverage for your vehicles. Auto insurance terms can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance – Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants from other drivers when they are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered losses include injuries to you and your family and damage to your Subaru Justy.
Due to the fact that many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is a good idea.
Insurance for medical payments – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for expenses for ambulance fees, X-ray expenses, hospital visits, surgery and pain medications. They can be used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants and will also cover being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP is not an option in every state and may carry a deductible
Collision coverage – This coverage will pay to fix damage to your Justy resulting from colliding with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. A deductible applies then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision coverage pays for things like hitting a parking meter, colliding with a tree, backing into a parked car, hitting a mailbox and driving through your garage door. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider dropping it from older vehicles. Another option is to increase the deductible to bring the cost down.
Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision) – This coverage pays for damage from a wide range of events other than collision. A deductible will apply and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive coverage pays for claims such as vandalism, falling objects and theft. The most a auto insurance company will pay at claim time is the cash value of the vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much consider dropping full coverage.
Liability coverages – Liability coverage will cover damages or injuries you inflict on other people or property that is your fault. Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. You commonly see policy limits of 100/300/100 that translate to $100,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a total of $300,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and a limit of $100,000 paid for damaged property.
Liability coverage protects against things such as pain and suffering, structural damage, bail bonds and repair bills for other people’s vehicles. How much liability coverage do you need? That is a personal decision, but consider buying as high a limit as you can afford.
Never pay more for less
Insureds leave their current company for any number of reasons including lack of trust in their agent, questionable increases in premium, not issuing a premium refund and even high rates after DUI convictions. Regardless of your reason, finding the right car insurance provider is pretty simple and you could end up saving a buck or two.
As you prepare to switch companies, make sure you don’t reduce needed coverages to save money. There have been many cases where someone sacrificed comprehensive coverage or liability limits and discovered at claim time that their decision to reduce coverage ended up costing them more. Your goal should be to purchase a proper amount of coverage at the best price while still protecting your assets.
We just showed you quite a bit of information on how to reduce 1993 Subaru Justy insurance prices online. The key thing to remember is the more rate quotes you have, the higher your chance of finding lower rates. You may be surprised to find that the lowest premiums are with some of the lesser-known companies.
