Have you fallen victim to an underperforming, overpriced insurance coverage policy? Believe me, you’re not alone. With consumers having so many options, it can be impossible to locate the most affordable insurer.

Smart consumers take time to shop coverage around occasionally since rates are constantly changing. If you had the best rates for Quest insurance last year there may be better deals available now. So forget anything you know (or think you know) about insurance coverage because we’re going to show you the best way to remove unneeded coverages and save money.

Automobile Insurance Quotes

All the larger auto insurance companies provide prices for coverage directly from their websites. This process is quite simple as you just enter your coverage preferences as requested by the quote form. Upon sending the form, their system pulls information on your driving record and credit history and gives you a price quote. Online price quotes simplifies rate comparisons, but the time it takes to visit a lot of sites and type in the same information is not the best way to spend an afternoon. But it’s very important to perform this step in order to find the lowest possible prices on auto insurance.

There is a better way!

An easier way to compare auto insurance pricing is to use a quote form that gets prices from a bunch of companies at once. It’s a real time-saver, eliminates repetitive work, and makes price shopping online a little more enjoyable. After sending your information, it gets priced with multiple companies and you can pick any of the pricing results.

If one or more price quotes are lower than your current rates, you can simply submit the application and buy the new coverage. The entire process takes less than 15 minutes and you will find out if you’re overpaying now.

To quickly compare rates now, click here and complete the simple form. If you have coverage now, it’s recommended you copy the coverage information as close as possible to your current policy. Doing this assures you will get rate quotes based on identical coverages.

Policy discounts you shouldn’t miss

Insurance can be prohibitively expensive, but there are discounts available to cut the cost considerably. A few discounts will automatically apply when you quote, but lesser-known reductions have to be inquired about before they will apply. If they aren’t giving you every credit you qualify for, you are throwing money away.

  • Multi-policy Discount – When you combine your home and auto insurance with one company you may save at least 10% off all policies.
  • Driver Safety – Completing a course in driver safety could save 5% or more and easily recoup the cost of the course.
  • Early Signing – Some companies give discounts for switching to them prior to your current policy expiration. This can save 10% or more.
  • Driver’s Ed – Require your teen driver to take driver’s ed class if offered at their school.
  • Senior Discount – If you’re over the age of 55, you may receive better car insurance rates for Quest insurance.
  • One Accident Forgiven – Some insurance companies will allow you to have one accident without raising rates as long as you don’t have any claims for a set time period.
  • Clubs and Organizations – Participating in a civic or occupational organization is a good way to get lower rates when buying car insurance for Quest insurance.
  • Anti-lock Brakes – Vehicles equipped with ABS or steering control can reduce accidents and qualify for as much as a 10% discount.
  • Service Members Pay Less – Having a family member in the military could be rewarded with lower premiums.
  • Payment Method – If you pay your entire premium ahead of time rather than paying monthly you could save up to 5%.

Drivers should understand that most discount credits are not given the whole policy. Most only reduce individual premiums such as comprehensive or collision. So even though they make it sound like all the discounts add up to a free policy, companies don’t profit that way. Any amount of discount will help reduce your premiums.

Insurance agents can help

When choosing the right insurance coverage, there really is no perfect coverage plan. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs and your policy should reflect that. For instance, these questions may help highlight whether you will benefit from professional help.

  • Should I waive the damage coverage when renting a car?
  • Do I have coverage if my license is suspended?
  • Does my liability insurance cover pulling a trailer or camper?
  • Does my policy cover my teen driver if they drive my company car?
  • Is business property covered if stolen from my car?
  • Is my babysitter covered when using my vehicle?
  • How can I find cheaper teen driver insurance?
  • What is the minimum liability in my state?
  • What is an SR-22 filing?

If you’re not sure about those questions then you might want to talk to an insurance agent. To find an agent in your area, simply complete this short form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It’s fast, free and you can get the answers you need.

Auto insurance coverage specifics

Having a good grasp of auto insurance aids in choosing the best coverages and the correct deductibles and limits. The terms used in a policy can be confusing and coverage can change by endorsement. These are typical coverage types offered by auto insurance companies.

Comprehensive auto coverage – Comprehensive insurance coverage will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first must pay your deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive can pay for things such as hail damage, damage from a tornado or hurricane and fire damage. The highest amount you’ll receive from a claim is the ACV or actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

Collision – This pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies then your collision coverage will kick in.

Collision coverage pays for claims such as sustaining damage from a pot hole, colliding with a tree, damaging your car on a curb and sideswiping another vehicle. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are older. Another option is to increase the deductible to save money on collision insurance.

UM/UIM (Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist) coverage – Your UM/UIM coverage protects you and your vehicle from other drivers when they do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered losses include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as damage to your 1994 Nissan Quest.

Because many people have only the minimum liability required by law, their limits can quickly be used up. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages should not be overlooked. Most of the time your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages are set the same as your liablity limits.

Medical payments and PIP coverage – Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for bills for EMT expenses, funeral costs, pain medications and doctor visits. The coverages can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and will also cover any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is only offered in select states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Liability auto insurance – This provides protection from damages or injuries you inflict on people or other property that is your fault. Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You might see liability limits of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and a total limit of $50,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Occasionally you may see a combined single limit or CSL which limits claims to one amount and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.

Liability coverage protects against things such as emergency aid, pain and suffering and structural damage. How much liability should you purchase? That is your choice, but buy as much as you can afford.
