  • Passive Restraints and Air Bags – Factory air bags can qualify for discounts of more than 20%.
  • Driver’s Ed – Require your teen driver to take driver’s ed class if it’s offered in school.
  • Sign Online – Certain companies may give you up to $50 just for signing your application digitally online.
  • Claim Free – Drivers with accident-free driving histories pay much less as compared to drivers who are more careless.
  • New Vehicle Savings – Adding a new car to your policy is cheaper because new vehicles have to meet stringent safety requirements.
  • Theft Prevention Discount – Vehicles equipped with anti-theft or alarm systems can help prevent theft and will save you 10% or more.
  • College Student – Youth drivers living away from home attending college and do not have a car may qualify for this discount.
  • Service Members Pay Less – Having a deployed family member may qualify for rate reductions.

As a disclaimer on discounts, some of the credits will not apply to the entire policy premium. Most only cut the cost of specific coverages such as liability and collision coverage. Just because it seems like you can get free auto insurance, companies don’t profit that way. But any discount will cut your premiums.

The most recommended method to compare car insurance rates is to know most insurance companies provide online access to compare their rates. The one thing you need to do is give the companies some data including the make and model of your vehicles, if the car is leased, whether you have decent credit, and how you use your vehicles. Your information is then sent to multiple insurance coverage providers and they provide comparison quotes within a short period of time.

How do I know if I need professional advice?

When it comes to buying proper insurance coverage, there is no best way to insure your cars. Everyone’s situation is a little different.

For instance, these questions may help you determine whether your personal situation could use an agent’s help.

  • Is my Chrysler 300M covered if I use it for business?
  • Why do I only qualify for high-risk insurance?
  • Am I covered by my employer’s commercial auto policy when driving my personal car for business?
  • Should I drop comprehensive coverage on older vehicles?
  • Do I need medical payments coverage since I have good health insurance?
  • Are my tools covered if they get stolen from my vehicle?
  • What is the difference between comprehensive and collision coverage?
  • What if I owe more than I can insure my car for?
  • Are split liability limits better than a combined single limit?
  • Are rental cars covered under my policy?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but you know they apply to you then you might want to talk to a licensed agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, take a second and complete this form.

Educate yourself about insurance coverages

Understanding the coverages of insurance can help you determine the right coverages and proper limits and deductibles. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and reading a policy is terribly boring.

Collision coverage – Collision insurance pays for damage to your 300M caused by collision with another car or object. You have to pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.

Collision insurance covers claims like hitting a mailbox, damaging your car on a curb, sideswiping another vehicle, sustaining damage from a pot hole and colliding with a tree. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider removing coverage from lower value vehicles. You can also raise the deductible to save money on collision insurance.

UM/UIM Coverage – This coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants from other drivers when they do not carry enough liability coverage. It can pay for medical payments for you and your occupants as well as damage to your 2003 Chrysler 300M.

Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. So UM/UIM coverage is a good idea. Normally the UM/UIM limits are set the same as your liablity limits.

Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. A deductible will apply and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.

Comprehensive coverage pays for claims such as hitting a deer, theft and hitting a bird. The highest amount you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much consider dropping full coverage.

Medical costs insurance – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP kick in for bills like ambulance fees, prosthetic devices, chiropractic care, dental work and rehabilitation expenses. The coverages can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. They cover all vehicle occupants as well as getting struck while a pedestrian. PIP coverage is only offered in select states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Liability coverages – Liability insurance protects you from damage or injury you incur to people or other property by causing an accident. This insurance protects YOU from claims by other people. It does not cover damage to your own property or vehicle.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. You might see limits of 50/100/50 that means you have $50,000 bodily injury coverage, $100,000 for the entire accident, and property damage coverage for $50,000. Another option is one limit called combined single limit (CSL) that pays claims from the same limit rather than limiting it on a per person basis.

Liability coverage protects against claims like funeral expenses, attorney fees and court costs. How much coverage you buy is a decision to put some thought into, but buy as much as you can afford.

Save your hard earned cash

People leave their current company for any number of reasons including delays in responding to claim requests, unfair underwriting practices, poor customer service or even delays in paying claims. Regardless of your reason for switching companies, switching companies is not as hard as you think.

You just learned many ideas to lower your 2003 Chrysler 300M insurance rates. The key concept to understand is the more quotes you get, the better your chances of lowering your rates. Consumers may even find the most savings is with a small mutual company.

Lower-priced insurance is possible both online in addition to many insurance agents, and you need to price shop both to get a complete price analysis. Some companies do not provide the ability to get a quote online and these smaller companies work with independent agents.
