Compare Insurance Costs

  • The fastest way to find low rates is a comparison rater form click here to open form in new window. This method eliminates the need for separate quote forms to each individual insurance company. A single form compares rates from several companies. It’s the quickest way to get rates.
  • A harder way to get comparison quotes is to manually visit each company’s website to request a price quote. Auto insurance coverage considerations

Understanding the coverages of auto insurance can be of help when determining which coverages you need at the best deductibles and correct limits. Auto insurance terms can be ambiguous and nobody wants to actually read their policy.

UM/UIM Coverage – Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage provides protection from other drivers when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. It can pay for hospital bills for your injuries and also any damage incurred to your Acura MDX.

Due to the fact that many drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, their limits can quickly be used up. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is a good idea.

Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – Comprehensive insurance coverage covers damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You first have to pay a deductible then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive can pay for claims like theft, hail damage and damage from a tornado or hurricane. The highest amount your auto insurance company will pay is the ACV or actual cash value, so if the vehicle’s value is low it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.

Liability coverages – Liability coverage will cover injuries or damage you cause to other people or property. This coverage protects you from claims by other people. Liability doesn’t cover damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.

Liability coverage has three limits: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have policy limits of 100/300/100 which means a limit of $100,000 per injured person, a total of $300,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and a limit of $100,000 paid for damaged property.

Liability insurance covers claims such as emergency aid, legal defense fees, attorney fees and court costs. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as large an amount as possible.

Collision coverages – This coverage covers damage to your MDX caused by collision with an object or car. You will need to pay your deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.

Collision insurance covers claims like colliding with a tree, crashing into a ditch and hitting a mailbox. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are older. You can also bump up the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.

Medical costs insurance – Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance kick in for bills for surgery, funeral costs, doctor visits, nursing services and prosthetic devices. They can be utilized in addition to your health insurance plan or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. PIP coverage is only offered in select states and may carry a deductible
