Searching Companies

Want lower insurance coverage rates for your Lexus LX 570? Did you fall for a flashy sales pitch and buy overpriced insurance coverage? Trust us when we tell you there are lots of people in the same boat.

Insurance companies such as Allstate, Liberty Mutual and State Farm constantly blast consumers with ad campaigns and consumers find it hard to not get sucked in by the cute commercials and do the work needed to find the best deal.

Pieces of the Lexus LX 570 insurance rate puzzle

It’s important that you understand the different types of things that play a part in calculating the rates you pay for insurance coverage. When you know what positively or negatively determines base rates enables informed choices that could result in much lower annual insurance costs.

Shown below are a partial list of the pieces insurance coverage companies consider when setting premiums.

  • Little extras can really add up – There are quite a few add-on coverages you can purchase on your LX 570 policy. Insurance for rental car reimbursement, better glass coverage and additional equipment coverage are some examples. These coverages may sound good initially, but now you might not need them so eliminate the coverages to reduce your premium.
  • Proper usage rating affects rates – The higher the mileage driven every year the more you’ll pay to insure your vehicle. Most companies charge to insure your cars based on how the vehicle is used. Autos left parked in the garage can get a lower rate compared to those used for work or business. Make sure your insurance coverage declarations sheet shows the correct usage for each vehicle, because it can save money. Incorrect usage on your LX 570 may be wasting your money.
  • Never allow your policy to lapse – Driving your car without having proper coverage is against the law and as a result your rates will increase for letting your coverage have a gap. And not only will insurance be more expensive, getting caught without coverage might get you a revoked license or a big fine.
  • Rates may be lower depending on your job – Occupations such as real estate brokers, executives and stock brokers are shown to have the highest rates attributed to job stress and lots of time spent at work. On the other hand, occupations such as scientists, students and the unemployed pay the least for LX 570 coverage.

How to Compare Car Insurance

The are a couple different ways to compare rate quotes and find the best price. The best method to find the lowest 2014 Lexus LX 570 rates involves getting comparison quotes online. This can be done in just a few minutes using one of these methods.

One of the best ways to find the lowest comparison rates is to use a rate comparison form click here to open form in new window. This method saves time by eliminating boring form submissions for each company. One quote request will get you price quotes direct from many companies.

Another way to compare prices requires a visit to the website for each individual company to complete a price quote. For sake of this example, let’s assume you want to compare GEICO, Esurance and Farmers. To get each rate you have to take the time to go to each site to enter your coverage information, and that’s why the first method is more popular.

The least recommended way to compare rates is to waste gas driving to insurance agents’ offices. Shopping for car insurance online makes this process obsolete unless you prefer the trained guidance only provided by licensed agents. You can, however, compare online quotes but still have the advice of a local agent and we’ll talk about that later.

Whichever method you choose, make absolute certain that you use exactly the same coverage limits on every quote. If the quotes have different liability limits you can’t possibly determine the best price for your Lexus LX 570. Slightly different insurance coverages can result in a big premium difference. It’s important to know that quoting more helps you find the best price.

The auto insurance bait and switch

Companies like Progressive, GEICO, Allstate and State Farm regularly use ads in print and on television. All the ads make an identical promise about savings if you move your coverage to them. But how can every company say the same thing?

All companies can use profiling for the right customer that earns them a profit. For example, a desirable insured could possibly be between 30 and 50, insures multiple vehicles, and drives newer vehicles. Any driver who fits that profile will get the preferred rates and most likely will save quite a bit of money when switching.

Potential customers who don’t measure up to this ideal profile must pay higher prices and ends up with the customer not buying. The ads state “people who switch” not “everybody who quotes” save that much. This is how insurance companies can confidently claim big savings. This illustrates why you absolutely need to quote coverage with many companies. You cannot predict which insurance companies will fit your personal profile best.

Verify you’re getting all your discounts

Car insurance companies do not advertise every discount very well, so here is a list some of the best known and also the lesser-known insurance savings.

  • Discounts for Safe Drivers – Drivers who don’t get into accidents may save up to 50% more for LX 570 coverage than drivers with accident claims.
  • Good Students Pay Less – This discount can earn a discount of 20% or more. The good student discount can last up until you turn 25.
  • No Accidents – Drivers who don’t have accidents can save substantially compared to frequent claim filers.
  • Pay Now and Pay Less – If you pay your entire premium ahead of time instead of paying each month you may reduce your total bill.
  • Discount for Life Insurance – Some companies give better rates if you take out life insurance.
  • Low Mileage Discounts – Driving fewer miles can earn better rates on cars that stay parked.

A little note about advertised discounts, most of the big mark downs will not be given to all coverage premiums. Most only cut specific coverage prices like liability and collision coverage. So when it seems like adding up those discounts means a free policy, insurance companies aren’t that generous.

When should I talk to an agent?

When buying the right insurance coverage, there really is no “perfect” insurance plan. Each situation is unique so your insurance should reflect that Here are some questions about coverages that may help highlight whether you will benefit from professional help.

  • What is the rate difference between pleasure use and commuting?
  • Does my insurance cover damage caused when ticketed for reckless driving?
  • Am I covered when pulling a rental trailer?
  • Is there coverage for injuries to my pets?
  • How can I find cheaper teen driver insurance?
  • Should I waive the damage coverage when renting a car?
  • Am I covered when delivering products for my home-based business?
  • I have health insurance so do I need medical payments coverage?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions but a few of them apply, you may need to chat with a licensed insurance agent. To find an agent in your area, take a second and complete this form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area.

Insurance coverages explained

Understanding the coverages of insurance helps when choosing the best coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and reading a policy is terribly boring. Listed below are the normal coverages available from insurance companies.

Liability coverage

Liability coverage protects you from damage that occurs to people or other property in an accident. It protects you against other people’s claims. It does not cover damage to your own property or vehicle.

It consists of three limits, bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. Your policy might show policy limits of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 bodily injury coverage, $100,000 for the entire accident, and a limit of $50,000 paid for damaged property.

Liability coverage protects against things like loss of income, attorney fees and bail bonds. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a decision to put some thought into, but you should buy as much as you can afford.

Insurance for medical payments

Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for immediate expenses for funeral costs, dental work, chiropractic care, X-ray expenses and prosthetic devices. They are utilized in addition to your health insurance plan or if you lack health insurance entirely. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is not universally available but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage

Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision)

Comprehensive insurance will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive coverage protects against claims such as theft, damage from flooding, hail damage, falling objects and fire damage. The maximum amount your insurance company will pay is the cash value of the vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.

Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance

This protects you and your vehicle from other motorists when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for hospital bills for your injuries and also any damage incurred to your Lexus LX 570.

Since many drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is very important.

Collision protection

This coverage pays for damage to your LX 570 from colliding with another car or object. You first must pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision coverage pays for things such as rolling your car, hitting a parking meter and crashing into a ditch. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from older vehicles. Another option is to choose a higher deductible to bring the cost down.

Make a quick buck

We just showed you a lot of information how to reduce 2014 Lexus LX 570 insurance prices online. The most important thing to understand is the more rate quotes you have, the better chance you’ll have of finding lower rates. You may even find the lowest rates come from a lesser-known regional company. These smaller insurers may often insure only within specific states and give getter rates compared to the large companies like Allstate and Progressive.

As you shop your coverage around, don’t be tempted to reduce coverage to reduce premium. There have been many cases where someone sacrificed liability coverage limits and learned later that it was a big error on their part. The aim is to buy enough coverage at the best price while still protecting your assets.
