Feel like you’re a prisoner to an underperforming, overpriced insurance coverage policy? Trust us, there are a lot of people just like you who feel imprisoned by their insurance coverage policy. Drivers have so many auto insurance companies to purchase coverage from, and even though it’s nice to have multiple companies, lots of choices makes it harder to compare rates and find the lowest cost insurance coverage.

Quick Auto Insurance Quotes

Shopping for lower auto insurance rates can be exhausting if you don’t know the best way to get rate quotes. You can waste a lot of time driving to agents in your area, or you can utilize online quotes to achieve your goal.

Most of the best insurance companies enroll in a system that enables customers to complete one form, and at least one company returns a competitive quote determined by their information. This eliminates the need for form submissions to every company.

One minor caviat to comparing rates this way is buyers cannot specifically choose which companies to receive prices from. So if you prefer to pick individual companies for rate comparison, we have a listing of low cost auto insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.

It’s your choice how you get your quotes, but double check that you are using exactly the same quote information with each company. If your comparisons have different limits and deductibles on each one it will be next to impossible to determine the best price for your Audi Cabriolet.

Take discounts and save

Car insurance is not cheap, but there could be available discounts to help bring down the price. Some discounts apply automatically at the time of purchase, but a few need to be inquired about before they will apply. If you’re not getting every credit you qualify for, you’re paying more than you need to.

  • Drivers Education – Make teen driver coverage more affordable by requiring them to complete a driver education course if offered at their school.
  • Homeowners Pay Less – Simply owning a home can save you money because of the fact that having a home demonstrates responsibility.
  • Discount for Life Insurance – Companies who offer life insurance give a discount if you purchase life insurance from them.
  • No Charge for an Accident – Certain companies will allow you to have one accident before your rates go up so long as you haven’t had any claims for a set time period.
  • Air Bag Discount – Cars that have air bags can get savings up to 30%.
  • Accident Free – Claim-free drivers pay much less compared to accident-prone drivers.
  • Service Members Pay Less – Being on active duty in the military could be rewarded with lower premiums.

Consumers should know that many deductions do not apply the whole policy. Most cut specific coverage prices like collision or personal injury protection. So when it seems like all the discounts add up to a free policy, car insurance companies aren’t that generous. But any discount will bring down your premiums.

Audi Cabriolet rates are in the details

It’s important that you understand the factors that come into play when calculating your car insurance rates. Having a good understanding of what determines base rates enables informed choices that will entitle you to much lower annual insurance costs.

  • Having a spouse can save you money – Getting married can actually save you money on your policy. Marriage is viewed as being more mature and responsible it has been statistically shown that married couples file fewer claims.
  • Men are more aggressive – Statistics show that women are safer drivers than men. That doesn’t necessarily mean that women are better drivers. Both sexes tend to get into accidents in similar numbers, but the males cause more damage. They also get cited for more serious violations such as reckless driving. Teenage male drivers are several times more likely to be in an accident and therefore are the most expensive to insure.
  • Don’t let your coverage lapse – Driving with no insurance can get your license suspended and your next policy will cost more because you let your coverage lapse. And not only will insurance be more expensive, but being ticketed for driving with no insurance will get you a license revocation or jail time.
  • Your occupation can affect rates – Careers like lawyers, social workers and stock brokers have the highest rates because of stressful work requirements and long work days. On the other hand, occupations like farmers, students and the unemployed get better rates for Cabriolet coverage.
  • High deductibles save money – Your deductibles represent how much money you are willing to pay out-of-pocket if you file a covered claim. Coverage for physical damage, otherwise known as comp (or other than collision) and collision, covers damage that occurs to your car. A few examples of covered claims could be colliding with a building, damage from fire, and burglary. The higher the amount you have to pay, the less your car insurance will be for Cabriolet coverage.
  • Your age impacts your rates – Teen drivers have a tendency to be more careless when driving so they pay higher car insurance rates. Parents adding a teen driver onto your car insurance can really hurt. More mature drivers are viewed as being more responsible, tend to cause fewer accidents and tend to be better behind the wheel.
  • Multi-policy discounts can save money – Most car insurance companies give discounts to policyholders who consolidate policies with them in the form of a multi-policy discount. If you currently are using one company, it’s in your best interest to shop around to ensure the best deal. You may still be able to find better rates by buying car insurance from a different company.

Which policy gives me the best coverage?

When it comes to buying adequate coverage for your vehicles, there is no “best” method to buy coverage. Everyone’s situation is unique and your policy should reflect that. These are some specific questions can help discover whether your personal situation might need an agent’s assistance.

  • What are the best liability limits?
  • What happens if I owe more than my 1994 Audi Cabriolet is worth?
  • Do I need to file an SR-22 for a DUI in my state?
  • Can my teen driver be rated on a liability-only vehicle?
  • Can I rent a car in Mexico?
  • Is my vehicle covered by my employer’s policy when using it for work?
  • Can I afford to buy a different vehicle if my 1994 Audi Cabriolet is totaled?
  • When would I need rental car insurance?
  • Where can I get insurance after a DUI in my state?

If you can’t answer these questions but one or more may apply to you, you might consider talking to an insurance agent. To find an agent in your area, complete this form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and can help protect your family.

Parts of your insurance policy

Having a good grasp of your policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need and the correct deductibles and limits. Insurance terms can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. Below you’ll find typical coverage types offered by insurance companies.

Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision) – This will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. A deductible will apply and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive insurance covers claims such as a broken windshield, rock chips in glass, theft and a tree branch falling on your vehicle. The maximum amount you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the ACV or actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance – This protects you and your vehicle’s occupants when other motorists either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered losses include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.

Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is a good idea. Frequently the UM/UIM limits are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.

Insurance for medical payments – Med pay and PIP coverage kick in for expenses for pain medications, funeral costs, nursing services and hospital visits. They are used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and also covers if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP coverage is not an option in every state but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage

Collision coverage – Collision coverage pays for damage to your Cabriolet caused by collision with another car or object. You first must pay a deductible then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.

Collision coverage protects against things such as hitting a parking meter, colliding with a tree, damaging your car on a curb, sideswiping another vehicle and backing into a parked car. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from older vehicles. Drivers also have the option to choose a higher deductible to bring the cost down.

Coverage for liability – Liability coverage protects you from damage that occurs to people or other property by causing an accident. It protects you from legal claims by others. Liability doesn’t cover damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. You commonly see policy limits of 25/50/25 which stand for a limit of $25,000 per injured person, $50,000 for the entire accident, and a limit of $25,000 paid for damaged property. Alternatively, you may have one limit called combined single limit (CSL) which provides one coverage limit without having the split limit caps.

Liability coverage pays for things like repair bills for other people’s vehicles, funeral expenses and pain and suffering. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is up to you, but consider buying as large an amount as possible.

Be a Smart Shopper

When buying insurance coverage, don’t be tempted to skimp on critical coverages to save a buck or two. There have been many cases where an insured cut comprehensive coverage or liability limits and learned later that the savings was not a smart move. The ultimate goal is to find the BEST coverage at a price you can afford.

You just learned many tips how you can shop for 1994 Audi Cabriolet insurance online. The most important thing to understand is the more times you quote, the higher your chance of finding lower rates. Drivers may discover the most savings is with some of the smallest insurance companies. These smaller insurers can often insure niche markets at a lower cost than their larger competitors like State Farm or Progressive.
