Want lower car insurance rates for your Subaru Justy? Feel like you’re a prisoner to overpriced car insurance? Trust us, there are a lot of people just like you who feel imprisoned by their car insurance policy. Consumers have many auto insurance companies to pick from, and although it’s nice to have multiple companies, it makes it harder to compare rates and find the lowest cost car insurance.

It’s a good habit to take a look at other company’s rates once or twice a year because insurance rates change frequently. Just because you found the best rates for Justy coverage six months ago you can probably find a better price now. You can find a lot of wrong information about car insurance online, so with this article, you’re going to get some excellent ideas to save money.

Shopping for the cheapest coverage is not that difficult. If you have a policy now or are just looking to switch companies, you will benefit by learning to find the best rates and still get good coverage. Vehicle owners just need to understand the most efficient way to compare rates online.

Free Quotes for Car Insurance

All major car insurance companies such as GEICO, State Farm and Progressive provide prices directly from their websites. Getting online quotes is quite easy as you just enter your required coverages into a form. After you submit the form the company’s rating system collects information on your driving record and credit history and returns a price quote. This makes comparing rates easy, but the process of having to visit each company’s website and repetitively fill out multiple forms is repetitive and time-consuming. But it’s very important to have as many quotes as possible in order to find the best price on car insurance.

The better way to compare rates

An easier way to compare car insurance pricing is to use a quote form to get prices from many companies. This type of form saves time, requires less work, and makes comparison shopping much more enjoyable. As soon as you send your information, your coverage is rated with multiple companies and you can pick any of the quotes that you receive.

If one or more price quotes are lower than your current rates, you can click and sign and purchase coverage. The entire process takes just a few minutes to complete and you will know how your current rates stack up.

To quickly find out how much you’re overpaying now, click here and submit your coverage information. If you have a policy now, it’s recommended you enter the insurance coverages just like they are on your policy. This helps ensure you will have a rate comparison based on identical coverages.

But I don’t know anything about car insurance

When it comes to buying the best insurance coverage coverage, there is no best way to insure your cars. Every situation is different so your insurance needs to address that. For instance, these questions could help you determine if your situation may require specific advice.

  • What is the difference between comprehensive and collision coverage?
  • Is a fancy paint job covered?
  • What is roadside assistance coverage?
  • Should I buy additional glass protection?
  • Does coverage extend to a rental car in a foreign country?
  • Is business property covered if stolen from my car?

If you can’t answer these questions, then you may want to think about talking to an agent. To find an agent in your area, fill out this quick form or click here for a list of insurance coverage companies in your area. It’s fast, free and may give you better protection.

Coverages available on your policy

Understanding the coverages of insurance can be of help when determining the right coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The terms used in a policy can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. These are the normal coverages offered by insurance companies.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) – This protects you and your vehicle’s occupants when other motorists do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered claims include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as damage to your Subaru Justy.

Since a lot of drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is very important. Frequently the UM/UIM limits are set the same as your liablity limits.

Liability – Liability insurance provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to people or other property. This coverage protects you against other people’s claims. Liability doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.

Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. Your policy might show limits of 50/100/50 that means you have a limit of $50,000 per injured person, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $50,000. Occasionally you may see a combined single limit or CSL which combines the three limits into one amount and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.

Liability insurance covers claims such as court costs, structural damage, bail bonds, repair bills for other people’s vehicles and funeral expenses. How much liability should you purchase? That is your choice, but you should buy as large an amount as possible.

Collision coverages – This coverage covers damage to your Justy from colliding with an object or car. You first must pay a deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.

Collision coverage protects against claims such as scraping a guard rail, crashing into a building, damaging your car on a curb and driving through your garage door. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Drivers also have the option to choose a higher deductible to save money on collision insurance.

Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage kick in for short-term medical expenses for pain medications, EMT expenses, hospital visits, surgery and prosthetic devices. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if you lack health insurance entirely. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP coverage is not available in all states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage

Comprehensive insurance – This coverage will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You need to pay your deductible first then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive coverage pays for claims such as fire damage, a broken windshield, rock chips in glass, vandalism and a tree branch falling on your vehicle. The maximum amount your insurance company will pay is the actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
