Ignore everything you know about auto insurance because I’m going to let you in on the secrets to the quickest way to properly buy coverages while reducing your premium.

How to Get Cheap Insurance

Effectively comparing insurance prices is a ton of work if you don’t utilize the easiest way. You can waste a lot of time discussing policy coverages with insurance agencies in your area, or you could use the web to achieve your goal.

The majority of car insurance companies enroll in a system where insurance shoppers enter their coverage request one time, and at least one company then returns a price quote determined by their information. This eliminates the need for quote requests for every insurance company. To use this form to compare 1994 Ford Bronco insurance rates click here to start a free quote.

The only drawback to using this type of system is buyers cannot specifically choose the providers you will receive quotes from. So if you prefer to choose individual companies to compare rates, we have assembled a list of the cheapest insurance companies in your area. Click to view list.

It’s up to you how you get prices quotes, just make absolute certain that you use identical coverage limits with every price quote. If you enter different deductibles it will be very difficult to determine which rate is truly the best.

Are you getting all your discounts?

Car insurance companies do not advertise all available discounts in an easy-to-find place, so we researched both the well known as well as the least known ways to save on insurance coverage. If they aren’t giving you every credit you deserve, you are paying more than you should be.

  • Payment Discounts – If paying your policy premium upfront instead of monthly or quarterly installments you can actually save on your bill.
  • Discount for Good Grades – This discount can earn a discount of 20% or more. The good student discount can last up until you turn 25.
  • Safety Course Discount – Taking a course in driver safety could cut 5% off your bill if your company offers it.
  • Braking Control Discount – Anti-lock brake equipped vehicles prevent accidents and qualify for as much as a 10% discount.
  • Drivers Education – Cut your cost by having your teen driver enroll in driver’s education if it’s offered in school.
  • Anti-theft Discount – Vehicles equipped with anti-theft or alarm systems are stolen less frequently and will save you 10% or more.
  • Military Rewards – Having a family member in the military may qualify for rate reductions.
  • Safe Drivers – Safe drivers can pay as much as 50% less for Bronco coverage than drivers with accidents.
  • Auto/Home Discount – If you insure your home and vehicles with one insurance company you will save at least 10% off all policies.
  • Student in College – Kids in college who are attending college and don’t have a car can receive lower rates.

A little note about advertised discounts, most of the big mark downs will not be given to the entire policy premium. Some only apply to individual premiums such as liability, collision or medical payments. So even though it sounds like it’s possible to get free car insurance, you’re out of luck.

Tailor your coverage to you

When choosing adequate coverage, there is no best way to insure your cars. Each situation is unique so your insurance needs to address that. For instance, these questions may help you determine if you could use an agent’s help.

  • Will my vehicle be repaired with OEM or aftermarket parts?
  • If my pet gets injured in an accident are they covered?
  • Is my ex-spouse still covered by my policy?
  • What exactly is covered by my policy?
  • Is extra glass coverage worth it?
  • Why am I required to buy high-risk coverage?

If you can’t answer these questions but you think they might apply to your situation, you might consider talking to an agent. If you don’t have a local agent, simply complete this short form or click here for a list of auto insurance companies in your area. It only takes a few minutes and can help protect your family.

Car insurance coverage specifics

Understanding the coverages of your policy aids in choosing the best coverages for your vehicles. Car insurance terms can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. These are the normal coverages offered by car insurance companies.

Coverage for medical expenses

Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for bills for nursing services, EMT expenses, pain medications, ambulance fees and X-ray expenses. The coverages can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants and will also cover any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is only offered in select states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Comprehensive car insurance

This pays for damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You need to pay your deductible first and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.

Comprehensive insurance covers claims such as fire damage, damage from getting keyed, falling objects and damage from flooding. The highest amount you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much consider dropping full coverage.

Collision coverage protection

This coverage will pay to fix damage to your Bronco resulting from a collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. A deductible applies and then insurance will cover the remainder.

Collision can pay for things such as crashing into a building, rolling your car and crashing into a ditch. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from older vehicles. It’s also possible to increase the deductible to bring the cost down.

Coverage for uninsured or underinsured drivers

This coverage provides protection when the “other guys” either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. This coverage pays for injuries to you and your family as well as your vehicle’s damage.

Since a lot of drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, their limits can quickly be used up. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is very important.

Auto liability insurance

Liability insurance protects you from damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property by causing an accident. Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have limits of 25/50/25 which means a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, $50,000 for the entire accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000.

Liability can pay for things such as funeral expenses, attorney fees, bail bonds, emergency aid and medical expenses. How much liability coverage do you need? That is up to you, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.
