Searching Companies

Shoppers have options when shopping for the best price on Ford Fusion Energi insurance. They can either waste time driving around to get rate comparisons or leverage the internet to find the lowest rates.

There are both good and bad ways to shop for insurance and we’ll show you the absolute fastest way to price shop coverage for your Ford and get the best price possible either online or from local insurance agents.

It’s a good habit to check insurance prices at least once a year because rates change frequently. Just because you had the lowest price on Fusion Energi coverage a couple years back the chances are good that you can find a lower rate today. There is a lot of wrong information about insurance online but I’m going to show you some tested techniques to save money.

If you have a current auto insurance policy or need new coverage, you can follow these tips to shop for the lowest rates and possibly find even better coverage. The purpose of this post is to teach you how to effectively get price quotes and some tricks to saving. Consumers just need to understand the proper way to get comparison rates online.

Comparison of Auto Insurance

Finding cheaper 2014 Ford Fusion Energi auto insurance prices doesn’t have to be difficult. The only requirement is to take a few minutes to compare quotes online from several insurance companies. This can be done in several different ways.

The single most time-saving way to find low rates would be an industry-wide quote request form click to view form in new window. This method prevents you from having to do multiple quote forms to each individual auto insurance company. Completing one form gets you price quotes direct from many companies. This is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time.

A slightly less efficient method to analyze rates is to manually visit each company website and fill out their own quote form. For example, we’ll pretend you want to compare rates from Liberty Mutual, Progressive and State Farm. To find out each rate you need to go to every website and enter your information, which is why the first method is quicker. For a list of links to insurance companies in your area, click here.

The most time-consuming method of comparing rate quotes is to spend your day driving to insurance agents’ offices. Buying insurance online can eliminate the need for a local agent unless you require the trained guidance of a local agent. However, consumers can get the lowest quotes online and still use a local agent and you’ll learn how to do that later.

It’s your choice how you get your quotes, but ensure you’re using identical information for each comparison quote. If you are comparing mixed coverages it will be impossible to decipher which rate is best.

Don’t miss out on these nine money-saving discounts

Insuring your vehicles can cost a lot, but discounts can save money and there are some available to cut the cost considerably. A few discounts will automatically apply at the time of quoting, but a few need to be specially asked for before being credited. If you’re not getting every credit available, you’re just leaving money on the table.

  • Club Memberships – Participating in certain professional organizations could qualify you for a break when shopping for insurance coverage on Fusion Energi coverage.
  • Resident Student – Youth drivers who are attending college and do not have access to a covered vehicle may be able to be covered for less.
  • Anti-lock Brake Discount – Cars that have steering control and anti-lock brakes are safer to drive and therefore earn up to a 10% discount.
  • Passive Restraints and Air Bags – Vehicles with factory air bags can receive discounts of 20% or more.
  • Auto/Life Discount – Companies who offer life insurance give a break if you buy life insurance from them.
  • Low Mileage Discounts – Low mileage vehicles could qualify for better rates on cars that stay parked.
  • Save with a New Car – Putting insurance coverage on a new car can save up to 30% compared to insuring an older model.
  • Discount for Good Grades – This discount can get you a discount of up to 25%. This discount can apply until age 25.
  • Driver’s Ed – Make teen driver coverage more affordable by requiring them to take driver’s ed class in school.

Consumers should know that most discount credits are not given to the entire policy premium. Most only reduce individual premiums such as medical payments or collision. So despite the fact that it appears you could get a free insurance coverage policy, it doesn’t quite work that way. But all discounts will cut the amount you have to pay.

Do I need special coverages?

When buying the best car insurance coverage for your vehicles, there isn’t really a best way to insure your cars. Everyone’s situation is a little different.

These are some specific questions could help you determine if your situation will benefit from professional help.

  • Am I covered if I break a side mirror?
  • Should I get collision insurance on every vehicle?
  • Does insurance cover damages from a DUI accident?
  • What is the ISO rating for a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi?
  • Does car insurance cover theft of personal property?
  • How can I get high-risk coverage after a DUI?
  • When would I need rental car insurance?
  • Does liability extend to a camper or trailer?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you, you might consider talking to a licensed agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, simply complete this short form. It is quick, free and may give you better protection.

Coverages available on your policy

Having a good grasp of your policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need at the best deductibles and correct limits. Auto insurance terms can be impossible to understand and reading a policy is terribly boring.

Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision)

This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You first must pay your deductible and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.

Comprehensive coverage protects against things like damage from getting keyed, a tree branch falling on your vehicle, hitting a bird, falling objects and hitting a deer. The most a auto insurance company will pay at claim time is the market value of your vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.

Insurance for medical payments

Med pay and PIP coverage pay for immediate expenses such as ambulance fees, EMT expenses, rehabilitation expenses, surgery and prosthetic devices. They are often used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance plan or if you do not have health coverage. It covers you and your occupants as well as if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal Injury Protection is not universally available and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay

Auto liability insurance

This can cover damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property by causing an accident. This insurance protects YOU from claims by other people. Liability doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. Your policy might show liability limits of 25/50/25 that translate to a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a per accident bodily injury limit of $50,000, and a total limit of $25,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Another option is a combined limit which limits claims to one amount rather than limiting it on a per person basis.

Liability can pay for things such as legal defense fees, funeral expenses, medical services and attorney fees. How much coverage you buy is your choice, but you should buy as large an amount as possible.

Auto collision coverage

Collision coverage pays for damage to your Fusion Energi resulting from colliding with another car or object. A deductible applies and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision coverage pays for claims like sideswiping another vehicle, crashing into a building, colliding with another moving vehicle, hitting a mailbox and sustaining damage from a pot hole. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Another option is to increase the deductible to bring the cost down.

Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance

This protects you and your vehicle’s occupants when the “other guys” either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered losses include hospital bills for your injuries as well as your vehicle’s damage.

Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is important protection for you and your family. Frequently the UM/UIM limits are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
