Searching Companies

Looking for the cheapest insurance rates for your Audi A8? Have you had enough of not being able to afford to insure your Audi every month? You’re in the same situation as millions of other consumers.

There is such a variety of insurers to choose from, and although it’s nice to have a selection, lots of choices makes it harder to find the best rates for your vehicles.

Consumers need to get comparison quotes every six months due to the fact that insurance rates go up and down regularly. Even if you got the best rates for A8 insurance a few years ago the chances are good that you can find a lower rate today. Don’t believe everything you read about insurance on the internet, so with this article, you’re going to get a lot of great tips on how to reduce your insurance bill.

Free Quotes for Insurance

When shopping for insurance there are multiple ways to get quotes from local insurance companies. The best method to compare 1999 Audi A8 insurance prices involves getting comparison quotes online. It is quite easy and can be accomplished using a couple different methods.

  1. The recommended way consumers can make multiple comparisons is to use a rate comparison form like this one (opens in new window). This type of form saves time by eliminating boring form submissions for each company you want a rate for. A single, simple form will return price quotes from many national carriers.
  2. A more time consuming way to compare prices is to take the time to go to each company website to request a price quote. For instance, we’ll pretend you want to compare Liberty Mutual, Progressive and Allstate. You would have to take the time to go to each site to input your insurance information, which is why the first method is more popular.

It’s your choice how you get your quotes, but ensure you’re using identical quote information on every quote you get. If you are comparing different values for each quote it will be very difficult to determine the best price for your Audi A8. Quoting even small variations in limits may cause a big price difference. And when comparing insurance rates, know that quoting more will improve the odds of getting a lower rate.

Cut your premium with discounts

Car insurance companies don’t list every discount very clearly, so we researched some of the best known and also the lesser-known discounts you could be receiving.

  • Drive Less and Save – Low mileage vehicles could qualify for a substantially lower rate.
  • No Charge for an Accident – A handful of insurance companies will allow you to have one accident before raising your premiums if your claims history is clear prior to the accident.
  • Safe Driver Discount – Drivers who avoid accidents can get discounts for up to 45% lower rates for A8 insurance than less cautious drivers.
  • Good Student – Performing well in school can save 20 to 25%. The good student discount can last well after school through age 25.
  • New Vehicle Savings – Buying coverage on a new vehicle can be considerably cheaper compared to insuring an older model.
  • Air Bag Discount – Factory air bags or automatic seat belts can qualify for discounts of more than 20%.
  • Discount for Swiching Early – A few companies offer discounts for buying a policy before your current policy expires. The savings is around 10%.

As a disclaimer on discounts, most credits do not apply to all coverage premiums. Most only reduce the price of certain insurance coverages like medical payments or collision. Just because it seems like adding up those discounts means a free policy, it just doesn’t work that way.

Car insurance companies that may have some of the above discounts may include but are not limited to:

Double check with every prospective company what discounts are available to you. Discounts may not be available in your area.

What is the best insurance coverage?

When buying the best insurance coverage coverage for your personal vehicles, there really is no single plan that fits everyone. Everyone’s needs are different so this has to be addressed. For example, these questions can aid in determining whether or not you would benefit from an agent’s advice.

  • Am I covered by my spouse’s policy after a separation?
  • Do I have coverage for damage caused while driving under the influence?
  • At what point should I drop full coverage?
  • How high should my uninsured/underinsured coverage be in my state?
  • Do I need motorclub coverage?
  • How much can I save by bundling my policies?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions but you know they apply to you, then you may want to think about talking to an agent. To find an agent in your area, simply complete this short form or click here for a list of insurance coverage companies in your area.

Parts of your auto insurance policy

Understanding the coverages of your auto insurance policy can be of help when determining the best coverages for your vehicles. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. These are the normal coverages offered by auto insurance companies.

Liability car insurance

This coverage protects you from injuries or damage you cause to other’s property or people in an accident. This coverage protects you against other people’s claims. It does not cover damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.

It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. You commonly see values of 25/50/25 that translate to $25,000 bodily injury coverage, $50,000 for the entire accident, and $25,000 of coverage for damaged property.

Liability coverage pays for claims such as repair bills for other people’s vehicles, funeral expenses, medical expenses and bail bonds. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but consider buying as much as you can afford.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM)

This protects you and your vehicle’s occupants from other motorists when they either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. This coverage pays for medical payments for you and your occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.

Since a lot of drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, their limits can quickly be used up. So UM/UIM coverage is a good idea.

Coverage for collisions

This coverage pays for damage to your A8 resulting from a collision with another car or object. You have to pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision insurance covers things like sideswiping another vehicle, colliding with a tree, crashing into a ditch, backing into a parked car and sustaining damage from a pot hole. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. You can also raise the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.

Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance pay for expenses for pain medications, funeral costs, dental work and ambulance fees. The coverages can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance plan or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants as well as any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal Injury Protection is not an option in every state but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Comprehensive insurance

Comprehensive insurance pays to fix your vehicle from damage that is not covered by collision coverage. A deductible will apply and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.

Comprehensive coverage protects against things like hitting a deer, hitting a bird, fire damage, damage from flooding and rock chips in glass. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the ACV or actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.

Better coverage you can count on

Lower-priced 1999 Audi A8 insurance can be found on the web and with local insurance agents, and you need to price shop both in order to have the best chance of saving money. Some car insurance companies do not offer online quoting and many times these smaller companies only sell through independent insurance agents.

As you prepare to switch companies, it’s a bad idea to sacrifice coverage to reduce premiums. Too many times, someone sacrificed physical damage coverage and found out when filing a claim they didn’t have enough coverage. Your strategy should be to purchase plenty of coverage at an affordable rate.
