Scraping up a payment for overpriced Chrysler Town and Country insurance can overdraw your bank account and make it impossible to make ends meet. Comparing price quotes is free, only takes a few minutes, and is a good way to slash your bill and have more diposable income.

Since consumers have many companies and agents to choose from, it can be challenging to find the most cost effective provider.

Shopping for the lowest cost protection is simple if you know the tricks. Basically, everyone who is shopping for car insurance should be able to reduce their rates. But car owners must understand how big insurance companies market on the web and take advantage of how the system works.

Do you qualify for a discount?

Properly insuring your vehicles can get expensive, but companies offer discounts that you may not know about. Certain discounts will be applied when you get a quote, but lesser-known reductions have to be requested specifically before being credited.

  • Discount for New Cars – Buying coverage on a new vehicle can cost up to 25% less compared to insuring an older model.
  • Save over 55 – Older drivers may qualify for a discount up to 10% for Town and Country coverage.
  • Multi-car Discount – Having more than one vehicle on the same insurance policy may reduce the rate for each vehicle.
  • Lower Rates for Military – Having a deployed family member can result in better rates.
  • Fewer Miles Equal More Savings – Fewer annual miles on your Chrysler can qualify you for better rates on cars that stay parked.
  • Payment Method – By paying your policy upfront rather than paying monthly you could save up to 5%.
  • Multi-policy Discount – When you combine your home and auto insurance with the same insurance company you could get a discount of approximately 10% to 15%.
  • Life Insurance Discount – Companies who offer life insurance give a break if you buy a life insurance policy as well.

As a disclaimer on discounts, most discount credits are not given to the overall cost of the policy. Most only cut individual premiums such as liability, collision or medical payments. So even though they make it sound like you would end up receiving a 100% discount, companies wouldn’t make money that way. But all discounts will reduce the amount you have to pay.

Car insurance companies that may have these benefits may include but are not limited to:

  • State Farm
  • Progressive
  • Travelers
  • American Family
  • Liberty Mutual

It’s a good idea to ask each insurance company what discounts are available to you. All car insurance discounts might not apply everywhere.

Compare the Market for Insurance

Performing a rate comparison can take time and effort if you don’t utilize the most efficient way to do it. You can waste a lot of time talking to insurance companies in your area, or you can utilize the web to achieve your goal.

Many insurance companies enroll in a system where insurance shoppers enter their coverage request one time, and every company then returns a price quote based on that data. This system prevents you from having to do quotation requests to each company.

The only drawback to doing it this way is that consumers can’t choose which providers you will receive quotes from. If you wish to select specific providers to compare rates, we put together a list of low cost insurance companies in your area. Click here to view list.

However you get your quotes, make darn sure you compare exactly the same coverages and limits with every price quote. If you are comparing different liability limits it will be impossible to determine which rate is truly the best. Slightly different coverages can make a big difference in price. Just keep in mind that more quotes will increase your chances of finding better pricing.

Chrysler Town and Country rates are in the details

It’s important that you understand some of the elements that go into determining the price you pay for car insurance. Knowing what controls the rates you pay enables informed choices that could result in better car insurance rates.

  • Don’t sacrifice liability coverage – Your policy’s liability coverage will protect you when a court rules you are at fault for damages caused by your negligence. Liability provides for a legal defense starting from day one. Liability insurance is quite affordable as compared to coverage for physical damage, so do not skimp.
  • Do you work long hours in a high stress job? – Did you know your occupation can influence how much you pay for car insurance? Occupations like doctors, business owners and dentists tend to pay the highest average rates because of high stress and lots of time spent at work. Other occupations like actors, historians and homemakers have the lowest average rates for Town and Country coverage.
  • Your location is important – Choosing to live in a small town is a positive aspect when insuring your vehicles. Urban drivers have to deal with more traffic problems and a longer drive to work. Lower population means reduced accidents and a lower car theft rate.
  • A clean driving record saves money – A bad driving record impacts your car insurance rates tremendously. Drivers who don’t get tickets receive lower rates than bad drivers. Even one speeding ticket can bump up the cost by twenty percent. If you have serious violations like DUI or reckless driving may find they need to submit a SR-22 form to the state department of motor vehicles in order to continue driving.

What coverages do I need?

When it comes to choosing the best insurance coverage, there really is no cookie cutter policy. Each situation is unique so your insurance should reflect that Here are some questions about coverages that might help in determining if your situation might need an agent’s assistance.

  • Can I afford to buy a different vehicle if my 2003 Chrysler Town and Country is totaled?
  • Does coverage extend to a rental car in a foreign country?
  • Should I put collision coverage on all my vehicles?
  • Why is insurance for a teen driver so high?
  • Am I missing any policy discounts?
  • Am I covered if I hit my neighbor’s mailbox?
  • Do I have coverage when making deliveries for my home business?
  • Why do I need rental car insurance?
  • Does my policy pay for OEM or aftermarket parts?
  • Should I sign the liability waiver when renting a car?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but a few of them apply, you might consider talking to an insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, simply complete this short form or go to this page to view a list of companies.

Car insurance myths debunked

Car insurance companies such as Allstate, GEICO and Progressive regularly use ads on TV and radio. They all seem to have a common claim about savings if you move your policy. How does each company claim to save you money?

All the different companies have a preferred profile for the type of driver that makes them money. For instance, a desirable insured might be profiled as between 25 and 40, has no prior claims, and drives newer vehicles. A customer who meets those qualifications is entitled to the best price and as a result will probably cut their rates substantially.

Potential insureds who don’t measure up to these standards must pay higher premiums which usually ends up with the driver buying from a lower-cost company. The ads say “customers that switch” not “everybody who quotes” save that much. That’s why companies can make those claims.

This illustrates why you absolutely need to quote coverage with many companies. It’s just too difficult to predict which insurance companies will give you the biggest savings on Chrysler Town and Country insurance.

Auto insurance 101

Understanding the coverages of car insurance aids in choosing the right coverages and proper limits and deductibles. Car insurance terms can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. These are the normal coverages found on most car insurance policies.

Auto collision coverage

This coverage will pay to fix damage to your Town and Country from colliding with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. A deductible applies and then insurance will cover the remainder.

Collision coverage protects against claims such as sustaining damage from a pot hole, colliding with a tree and crashing into a ditch. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from vehicles that are older. Drivers also have the option to increase the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.

Medical expense coverage

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for expenses for things like hospital visits, nursing services, surgery and chiropractic care. They can be used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if you are not covered by health insurance. Medical payments and PIP cover you and your occupants as well as being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP is not an option in every state and may carry a deductible

Comprehensive protection

Comprehensive insurance covers damage that is not covered by collision coverage. You first have to pay a deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive insurance covers things such as hail damage, a tree branch falling on your vehicle, a broken windshield, hitting a bird and damage from getting keyed. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the ACV or actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

Liability coverage

This coverage provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to other’s property or people in an accident. This insurance protects YOU from claims by other people, and does not provide coverage for damage to your own property or vehicle.

It consists of three limits, bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. As an example, you may have values of 50/100/50 which stand for a $50,000 limit per person for injuries, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged property. Another option is a combined single limit or CSL which combines the three limits into one amount rather than limiting it on a per person basis.

Liability insurance covers claims such as legal defense fees, loss of income, medical services and pain and suffering. How much coverage you buy is a decision to put some thought into, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.

Uninsured or underinsured coverage

Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage gives you protection from other drivers when they do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered losses include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as damage to your Chrysler Town and Country.

Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is a good idea. Usually these coverages are set the same as your liablity limits.

Have money to burn

Budget-conscious 2003 Chrysler Town and Country insurance is attainable both online and with local insurance agents, and you need to price shop both so you have a total pricing picture. A few companies do not offer online price quotes and most of the time these small, regional companies sell through independent agents.

While you’re price shopping online, it’s a bad idea to buy poor coverage just to save money. There have been many cases where an accident victim reduced physical damage coverage and learned later that it was a big error on their part. The aim is to buy a smart amount of coverage for the lowest price while still protecting your assets.
